Against boardroom gender quotas • Quotas create discrimination against individual talented men running against women for the same position • With quotas women may be regarded successful for their gender and not their skills and merit • In Norway, the raise of women on boards has had a sort of negative effect on companies performance because of the lack of experience of new added members on the Board due to rapid recruitment to respect the law* • It creates a new competition between women if only a certain amount of seats are available • These quotas won’t affect some of the main barriers to women getting onto Boards and in leading positions such as childcare issues. * The University of Michigan Business School of the CEO or succession planning.
