The most important collaborative practice
for school leaders: Taking a principled path
President
Dear Colleague:
Randall Delling
They tell me that these are my last 350 words to you. The year flew
by, as they often do. The theme this month is collaboration and partnerships. Topics include district collaboration with other groups,
labor-management collaboration, CTE partnerships with industry
to prepare students for jobs and college, linked learning, using social
media to promote school-family connections, and more.

I am leaving you with the most important collaboration practice,
the practice I communicated when we began our journey together.
That practice is to strive at all times to be as principled a
human being as you possibly can. By that I mean that I be- I believe it is important to

such ideas as truth, honesty, consideration, respect, respon- lead by committing your

courage, and working for the common good, secure in the
knowledge that as you lift others in leadership you lift your- truth, honesty, respect,
