About the submitter of the project in a nutshell:
Society “Ciedrs” were founded in the beginning of 2010, in Grobiņa. Society
links up people who want to use their professional skills and knowledge in
finances, administration, planning and management to support and develop
public activities for the inhabitants of all age groups. For several years already
these activities are carried out in the Baptist congregation in Grobiņa, 31 Lielā
Street. In 2011 the Society implemented LEADER project and renovated premises in this address where children and young people could spend their free
time. Society also successfully cooperates with the Council of the Rural Territory of Grobiņa, educational establishment, social service, and other non-governmental organisations. Voluntary workers are regularly engaged in the
events supported by the Society, there have also been teams of volunteers
from USA, Canada and Europe. All events are free of charge to all individuals;
special attention is paid to the social problems within youth, as well as to the
ability for various interests groups of all ages to meet.
Project description:
Within the frameworks of the project yard territory in the historical centre of
Grobiņa were functionally upgraded and aesthetically improved and now this
territory is available to all individuals of all age groups and they can spend their
leisure time activities here. A playground is created, as well as stage where
concerts are performed, climbing wall for the children is set up and wellequipped recreational area for the inhabitants is developed.
