42 CO L L A B O R AT I O N C Confidence in journalism and other media is about as high as confidence in politicians. Both suffer from a per- verted sense of values and a deepen- ing abuse of power. We have allowed our messengers and our civil leaders to grossly misbehave. We have given them permission to put profits over purpose. They have thrived. And, we are often the losers. And yet, at the same time, the world has changed. It has become more conscious. More of us are looking for greater personal and global sustain- ability, a more purposeful life and a more diverse, global vision of shared, universal values. More of us care about our planet.
