So, what achievements have we
seen from women in climbing so
far?
Well, to start off, one name you
need to remember: Fran Brown. Despite
mostly using a wheelchair to get around
after suffering a spinal cord injury, Fran is
currently a world paraclimbing champion.
It’s seems that paraclimbers as a whole
often don’t get the full recognition they

different to most climbers, as she often
has to use one arm to pull up her legs.
However, this did not stop her from
winning gold in paraclimbing bouldering
in 2013.
Lately, more and more women
have been climbing to the top of the
pile, making 2014 a big year for female
climbers. This has provided a lot
more inspiration for female climbers,
