It’s Not Enough to Teach It At the Be United in Christ Outreach Ministry, we don’t believe it’s enough to simply teach what the Bible says about Christian unity. We’ve found that one of the most effective ways to promote Christian unity is by demonstrating it through working together with other believers to display the love of Jesus Christ. As a bonus, this united effort is also an effective evangelistic tool. It’s the model Jesus explained in His new commandment, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another … By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” By God’s grace, and seeking to follow Jesus’ example, we have taught and promoted Bible-based Christian unity on six continents, while also helping to support Christ-centered ministries worldwide. In Mexico, we partnered with United in Christ Ministries Worldwide to bless impoverished children. The volunteers on this missions trip repaired damaged bicycles and gifted many new bicycles to those who had none. In Matamoros, Mexico, a bicycle is not just a toy: it’s an important mode of transportation. By repairing them and providing new ones, our partners communicated the gospel of Jesus Christ in a creative way and sowed the love of God into hearts of all ages throughout the community! In India, we partnered with Abundant Ministries Fellowship to serve orphans. It is estimated that more than 2 million children in India have been orphaned by the AIDS epidemic. These children are often found living on the streets, rummaging through trash to survive another day. Many are kidnapped and taken as sex slaves. We were able to help provide a 30-week supply of food and new bunkbeds to five Christian orphanages across India. These locations have become a safe place where orphaned children can be loved, cared for, and taught both basic life skills and the Word of God. What a remarkable and life-changing work we have the honor of being a part of! We thank God for His grace extended to these children and pray God’s will for their lives. In Ethiopia, we partnered with Jewish Voice Ministries International to provide medical 29
