For the church to preach the gospel throughout the world before the return of Christ , it must experience true revival and be part of the great outpouring of God ’ s Spirit . Revival can be defined as “ an act or instance of reviving ” or “ the state of being revived , such as a new presentation or publication of something old .” For the church , revival means a return to its original purpose , only in a larger dimension . This is because revival is always accompanied by a new work of
God . If what we experience in the church has previously happened in the same way , then no matter how wonderful it may be , it cannot be considered revival .
The Bible tells us that “[ Jesus ] has made us kings and priests to His God and Father ” ( Revelation 1:6 ). Revival will come , in large part , from believers who dedicate themselves to serving as God ’ s end-time priests through prayer , fasting , worship , and giving .
