Letting Go > Holding On BRENDT BLANKS

My husband is so handy; it ' s one of his many gifts. He has a knack for fixing, assembling, or figuring out just about anything. And let me tell you, that ' s a blessing in my world! Whether it ' s furniture, organizers, or random decor pieces, I constantly need things put together. The best part is, he ' s willing to help. I help him with the marketing strategy for his publishing company, and he helps me with all the DIY assembly. It ' s a sweet balance!
But every now and then, I need something put together and I don’ t want to bother him; he’ s got his own work too! If I ' m being transparent, though, I hesitate because sometimes I just want to do it myself. There ' s something satisfying about looking at a project, like a newly built side table or closet organizer, and saying, " I did that! I built that!"
Here ' s the catch: I’ m not exactly“ handy.” Sure, I’ ve made it work a time or two, but most of the time, if I try to tackle it alone, it doesn’ t go as planned. And that’ s perfectly OK.
