trap of “ sloppy agape .” This happens when , in the name of love and harmony , we fail to speak out and warn people about genuinely dangerous teachings .
Every sermon and service , every conversation and counseling session , involves at least one of the sheep God entrusted to us . Anyone who loves one of my children or grandchildren and shows unusual kindness to them immediately finds a special place in my heart . If our parental love results in such appreciation , how must God feel when we labor to feed and guide and protect his beloved flock ? Let us give ourselves to being the shepherds God wants us to be .
