there, even if the roles have changed and even if you now live far apart. No longer are you in a position of authority over them. Your relationship is now more peer to peer, adult to adult. Learn to embrace and enjoy that change. It’ s God’ s way, and it should be our way too. Now, by God’ s grace, you can enjoy a growing, mutually encouraging relationship with your adult children for years to come. We’ ll look in more depth at our relationships with our adult children in the next chapter.

He served as the lead pastor at Christ’ s Covenant Church of Winona Lake, Indiana for over 30 years, followed by more than ten years on the pastoral staff.
