but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.( Hebrews 4:14 – 16)
Do you know what I find so extraordinary about this passage of Scripture? Paul depicted the compassionate nature of Jesus and His heart toward our weaknesses to show that He knows exactly how we feel because He experienced it, too, as a man! But what gets me is that Paul even told us about the attitude we can have when we come before God’ s throne: boldness. Our confidence is not in ourselves, our good works, or who we are. Our confidence is in the blood of Jesus that has made a way for us to have the friendship and closeness with God that Jesus had. And this is all God is looking for; He wants friendship with you. Prayer causes you and me to look at the Son of God, and, as we behold the face of Jesus, we will become more like Him.
Did you know your companionship and fellowship actually bless the heart of God? It is why He gave His life for you and me and anyone who would receive Him into their hearts and make Him Lord and Savior of their lives! I have asked myself this question so many times: What kind of love is this? The love of God is incomprehensible to you and me, and Paul
