Have you ever given an ultimatum to God or asked Him to give you a very specific sign for something?
I used to practice this dangerous, unbiblical habit before I started seeking God’ s will through the lens of His Word.
The private university I attended had white swings all around campus. Many couples spent time on these swings together, and there was a campus saying that went a little something like“ Three swings equal a ring.” As a single college freshman, I was ready to swing my way to love!( Insert cringe here!)
Like many college freshmen, I was anxious and excited to enter a new phase of life where I would have the opportunity to meet new people and pursue my future. As cheesy as it sounds, I can remember asking God to make it abundantly clear who I was supposed to be with. I would ask Him to show me this by giving me unique signs that would serve as confirmation that I had found my lifelong“ swinging partner.” For example, I would pray things like God, if I am meant to be with this person, let me know by having
