people over and welcoming them into your home . Having paper plates and cups make easy to clean up and the great thing is , if you prep these meals and no one comes , the food won ’ t go to waste . Eat the leftovers !
In 2 King 4:8-10 , we read about a woman who Scripture refers to as “ notable .” She provided Elisha a place to stay and eat . It sounds like he stayed there often and she was always willing to open her home . Since they didn ’ t have cell phones , I ’ m sure it was always unexpected . If you read on , 2 Kings 8:1-6 tells us that because she opened her home and served others , God continued to bless her .
It ’ s not just food around a table — it ’ s the literal breaking of bread , serving others , building relationships , and doing life together that leads to true community .
