Your notice tells someone else: You being here is enough.
Another irony I learned about service is that we often see what others need before we see what we ourselves need. I remember one of my friends saying to me,“ Are you going to listen to yourself? And help yourself as you help others?” That was eye opening. I hadn’ t thought that the very things I said to people or did for others were the very things I needed or needed to hear. I could see the benefits of serving others, but it was easier to serve them and ignore myself. I had a hard time considering myself( as you’ ve learned) and certainly didn’ t have self-love for many years. My friend’ s question made me realize that I needed help as much as those I was helping. what others need and you’ ll find it also helps you show up for yourself. Each time we show up for others, a part of us is healing and coming out of the dark places where we hide. Serving can be the gateway to bettering our mental health. Speak and do
