EPHEMERAL BEAUTY -- (Empress Adored) x (Lost in the Mist) x (Easter Egg x Morning Moonlight) Sev. 6-7” fl. 28” sc. M 21 buds. Cold hardy, good rust tolerance, fertile both ways, reblooms. One of our main breeding goals is to paint patterns onto each primary color pallet. We begin with a large full form lemon self. The green throat is surrounded by an orange eye with an unusual bracket pattern outlined by a dark orange mascara band that continues as a picotee around the petal edge. Surrounding the picotee edge is a third bubbly ruffled golden edge. We have used this variety to bring sophisticated patterns and edges to bright blossoms and love the pretty results. The comic tragedy of all daylilies plays out one at a time, gorgeous today and gone tomorrow. $150 DEEPER MEANING -- (Send Me A Rainbow x Cobalt Rings) Sev. 6” fl. 29” sc. M 28 buds. Cold hardy, excellent rust tolerance, fertile both ways, reblooms. The blue violet eye of this variety ruptures into concentric patterns around the yellow throat with a green heart, letting the antique white self color shine through from the depths. The same pattern is mimicked on the sepals. The lush eye zone tone continues around the edges as a picotee with a gold wire edge. We give high marks to this variety for a long bloom time, high bud counts on tall scapes, a beautiful edge, and a consistently strong “ring” patterns on each bloom from beginning to end of its flowering period. $150 EULA FLUELLEN -- (Scarlet Angel x Scarlet Peacock) x (Velvet Throne x Leo Lazar) Sev. 6.5” fl. 32” sc. E 25 buds. Cold hardy, good rust tolerance, fertile both ways, reblooms. These bold blooms display a dark red self above a green throat with bubbly gold edges. This color really stands out in the garden, often attracting attention from across the field. Also remarkable is the tall scape which constitutes another salvo in our “war against the scape”. We want great flowers on great scapes and this variety certainly fits the bill. It’s not surprising, therefore, that a versed daylily aficionado, Eula Fluellen of Georgia, chose this hybrid as her namesake. A special flower named for a wonderful lady. $175
