NAPS ugar “The collection was stylish and sexy,” AUTUMN/WINTER 2014 PRESENTATION Napsugar Von Bittera, the creative director and founder of her eponymous label, has offered us a humorous and very wearable collection for her A/W14 presentation. Napsugar told us this season was inspired by “contemporary cubism, the seven deadly sins which were shown with laser cuts on the leather and also pop art and consumerist society which is why we used the really bright props.” Humour and playfulness play a huge part in Napsugar’s work. Last season we saw characters such as Snow White, Cinderella and the Wicked Step Mother. “I think we are definitely going to continue this way and keep the sense of humour” she told us after the presentation, forecasting the bold primary colours that were the focused colour palette of her collection to be a trend for this season. 7 “contemporary cubism, the seven deadly sins... and also pop art and consumerist society” “It was a kind of different presentation of Pop Art like face lifting, everybody should think about this consumerist society and should have more classical pieces and relax our lives,” she went on to say about inspiration behind the giant props such as an ice lolly and aeroplane seats with an old-style telephone. The models were very much a reflection of Napsugar herself, looking just as Nordic with blonde long hair and fair skin. The collection was stylish and sexy; featuring staple pieces like fitted leather jackets and jeans alongside beautiful leather knee-length shorts and more sculptural jackets in her chosen palette.
