GILES
eing backstage
at Giles was one
of the finest
moments of my
career, possibly life. As the
likes of Cara Delevigne,
Malaika Firth, Edie Campbell, Kendall Jenner and
Jourdan Dunn saunter past
with their hair half done and
their makeup immaculate, I
couldn’t help but feel slightly
giddy. If anyone ever tells
you that they don’t feel star
struck the first time they
walk into a room with some
of the best names in the fashion industry, they are lying. It
is almost impossible to keep
a straight face and not go
weak at the knees. However, I
have never felt more at home

to flatten it out. A Toni & Guy
stylist told us that “what it’s
meant to feel or look like is
that she’s been out on her
motorbike, she’s had her
helmet on and she’s taken »
the helmet off.”The beautified
helmet hair was due to the
abundance of leather in Giles’
A/W14 collection, with some
of the most visually stunning
biker leather trousers I have
ever laid my eyes on. Flared
with the zips undone, they
come in an array of colour
ways; from the popular
orange and kingfisher blue
of the collection to a block
white and silver. The lip print
from last season was
revisited, this time in black
and silver and distorted in a
Dali melting clock way.
In fact, there was a wealth
of amazing prints in the
collection, such as a beautiful
mix of lime green and lemon
yellow check or the kingfisher
print which influenced the
kingfisher blue smokey eye
of the models. There was an
overall theme of rock chick
