learning in person, slowly at first, but then we gained confidence, and with confidence, we gained momentum. The challenges teachers, parents, and students faced during this time have been equated to building an airplane in mid-air while also learning to fly it. We all became emergency pilots!
Of course, a pandemic could only be paired the same year with a generational winter storm that displaced us for a week and a record number of damaging tornadoes. But the shadow of Covid-19 remained from beginning to end. To our delight, we made it together! We not only survived, but we thrived!
Athletics, musical and performing arts programs, and traditional graduations. Our campuses have enjoyed tremendous improvements, our buses have been updated with additional safety features, we updated all of our technology across the district, and our graduation rates have reached an all-time high.
Our best days are ahead of us. From all of us here at the LCSD, we say thank you for your ongoing support and wish you a safe, enjoyable summer.
