Ten thousand runners of varying levels of ability pounded the streets of the square mile in July in the annual Standard Chartered City Race.
Hydration was vital for the runners and there were frequent water stations on the five-kilometre route. Naturally the pubs and bars in the City played a valuable role after the race.

Impressive
LCCI put out a strong team, the best of the bunch being Recchá Sylvester who completed the course in an impressive 21 minutes and four seconds.
One third of the entry fees for the event were donated to the Standard Chartered Foundation which was created to tackle inequality. The charity drives impact and prosperity for underserved young people.
