Laguna Comes Together in Support of South Swell Donuts Owner
A family-owned Laguna Beach business is getting a big help from their community after the owners were in back-to-back car crashes . According to a GoFundMe page set up for the owners of South Swell Donuts , owner Jackie was hit by a suspected drunk driver on her way to work last weekend , suffering serious injuries including broken ribs . Jackie ’ s husband had also been in a car accident recently .
Due to her injuries , Jackie is unable to work for the rest of the month , so the community is raising money to support the business in her absence . In a matter of hours , more than $ 11,000 has been raised to support the South Swell Donuts family .

Aloha Week at Health in Balance Offers Free Treatment
Health in Balance will offer free treatment for the community from June 6 to 9 at 330 Park Avenue , Suite # 3 , Laguna Beach . The visit will include a full body health and postural assessment , hands-on therapeutic bodywork and a gentle adjustment . A $ 15 donation is suggested . Kelpfest hits Main Beach this Saturday
The 12th Annual Laguna Bluebelt Photo Contest is open for submissions of images captured over the past year . The submission deadline is July 7 with an artist reception later at the Laguna College Art & Design Gallery .
The Bluebelt Photo Contest highlights and celebrates Laguna ’ s Citywide network of marine protected areas connected as a Bluebelt for sea life restoration serving as a nursery supporting regional fisheries from Dana Point and Newport Beach . No Square Theatre Receives Festival of Arts Grant edged their invaluable contributions during their speeches .

“ I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you , our Pageant Legacy Members . Your generous donations and seat purchases for the Festival and Pageant have been instrumental in helping our organization survive during the challenging financial times , especially throughout the pandemic ,” President of the Festival of Arts David Perry said . “ On behalf of the board , the staff , and volunteers , thank you .”
Inside the Irvine Bowl , each dedicated seat was adorned with a gold bow and a plaque recognizing the donor ’ s charitable gift . From their seats , Legacy members were treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the Pageant of the Masters during a private rehearsal . Three pieces from this summer ’ s production , Art Colony : In the Company of Artists , were re-created onstage . Guests watched the Pageant staff assisting volunteer cast members into the set pieces and making meticulous lighting adjustments- It was a glimpse into the unique process of bringing a living picture to life . Among them was Lois Mastrocola , a long-standing supporter who generously donated to reserve a block of seats in Row M of Loge Center for her family .

By LB Indy Staff No Square Theatre , Laguna ’ s local community theater , recently received a $ 7,000 grant from the Festival of the Arts Foundation . This gift will help continue support for No Square ’ s Theatre on the Spectrum program , which presents adapted sensory-friendly performances for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities . Theatre on the Spectrum was launched in 2022 and , in its inaugural year , received a Laguna Beach Arts Alliance Art Star Awards nomination for Best Arts Program .
No Square Theatre is a non-profit organization and provides performance opportunities and theatrical experience to local amateur performers , directors , and technical staff of all ages . In addition , No Square holds workshops designed for a range of ages , talents , and experiences . A typical season includes plays , musicals , concerts and the popular musical parody of local life , LAGUNATICS , which recently celebrated its 30th annual Roast of the Coast at the Forum Theatre .
