We are very excited to announce that the Hillsborough County Bar Association Bar Leadership Institute ( BLI ) is underway for the 2022-23 year ! HCBA President Jacqueline simms-Petredis has appointed BLI co-chairs Alexa Cline , Jason Imler , and Daniela Mendez , all of whom were participants of the BLI 2021-22 class .

The HBCA BLI ’ s program aims to identify and develop young attorneys of diverse backgrounds who have the potential to grow into future HCBA and community leaders . This year ’ s HCBA BLI class will participate in monthly modules beginning september
2022 and running through May 2023 . The participants will visit and get the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the workings of HCBA and the Hillsborough County community .
The Bar Leadership Institute will have several opportunities for the current class to participate in various modules . some planned activities include trips to the Hillsborough County Courthouse , a cigar factory , Tampa general Hospital , Port of Tampa Tour , sports events , and Fire Department / Tampa Police Department tours , to name a few . In addition , the BLI helps participants
theHBCaBLi ’ sprogramaimstoidentify anddevelopyoungattorneysofdiverse backgroundswhohavethepotentialtogrow intofutureHCBaandcommunityleaders .
develop the professional and interpersonal skills necessary for success in a group dynamic .
BLI participants are encouraged to strengthen their relationship with the HCBA by attending events and engaging in HCBA board meetings . In addition , this year ’ s participants will complete a community service project to increase their knowledge of community programs and volunteer opportunities in the Hillsborough County area .
