You can see how a three-to-five-day delay waiting for a protective order to arrive by U . s . Mail may lead to a petitioner being harassed , injured , or even killed . The new law simply modernizes the process and it doesn ’ t cost us anything . But it can mean everything to a survivor who is waiting . Time matters . seconds matter . The 13th Judicial Circuit shares a unique working relationship in Hillsborough County and this is the proof .
