It is with deep heartbreak and sorrow that I am writing this. I am still having a hard time believing that Prince
has passed on. He has been in my life from the beginning of my career, and has been an amazing friend,
confidante, and supporter with a really, really, big and brave heart. I just can’t believe this. He was brilliantnot just musically, but intellectually. He was extremely well-read and was light-years ahead of his time. We
could talk for hours and hours because he’s had such a vast body of knowledge and experience to draw from,
which made it endlessly exciting to be with him. He also had an amazing sense of humor, which made it all
the more thrilling. From the moment I started Urban Farming he started helping, and had big ideas about
ways he could help. He always told me I was the first artist he gave freedom to. He appreciated me very much
as an artist, and I appreciated that kindness. He launched my career, and I’ve always thought he would live
well past a hundred. I can’t believe this. I’m devastated and heartbroken.
I’m releasing my song “Birth’s Cry” for him. I had planned to release it after “Little Diva”- it’s not even finished, but I’m releasing it right
now in honor of Prince, his legacy, and how he touched my life and how he was so adamant about always looking at the sunny side and
keeping a positive mind frame. This song represents rebirth and hope. I know so many of us in this world are going through really tough
times, so I also put it out in honor of our world and my eternal vision that we will all, someday soon, realize that we are a united human
family. I know that Prince has passed on, but he has passed into a new dimension where
he can be with all of us at the same time and
