Your goal to be the best will always put you in a position where you will be tested whether good or bad .” You got to find a way to make it work .”

After working with the likes of industry greats like , Jill Scott , Kim Burrell , and helping the careers of many others , Kevin Shine had to learn the hard way that the politics of the business can and will ruin friendships you thought you had . People will turn on you in a heartbeat if they feel the grass is greener on the other side so to speak . Kevin Shine never forgot what Ernie Singleton told him early on in his career and that ’ s to give back . Writing Sessions up into a national organization with hundreds of people on their panels . Writer ’ s Sessions has grown into nine national markets with the leadership of Mr . Shine holding mixers and boot camps to build up these singers / songwriters . They actually have artists who they are building up to create opportunities for them . As I said before , Kevin on numerous occasions has invited me out to the mixers and after interviewing him last week , I truly see the value of what this can do for me as a singer / songwriter .
I truly believe in this concept and know that this will be a platform for me in the future as well as thousands of others to become better our God given talents . One of the rules Mr . Shine says you have to live by is keeping the core of what you ’ ve built staying true to yourself . That ’ s the problem with some artist because they try to ride the wave of what the trends that going on not realizing trends go out of style but your core is who you are forever .
