Jewel s Well that's really sweet, Howard. But how can we be so compassionate when everyone is scared that it may happen to them. Howard I understand and yes what I said could seem idealistic. This type of violence does create fear and insecurity. These are natural reactions. I do agree that some of the apparent causes do need to be dealt with on a practical level. For example, there needs to be more done around gun control. There are certainly lots of other issues that have been related to or associated with mass shootings that need a practical, bottom-line treatment. I think these are important issues and I also believe we've got to find a way to give people more heart-opening within themselves to help prevent some of this and to give us the security we need. In other words, when somebody is really in contact with their heart they're not going to go around shooting people. The intelligence of the heart allows us to develop the capacity to have more latitude with people; more understanding to be able to accept differences between each other. Howard In the bigger picture, we've got to assist people through helping them learn how to manage their emotions. That doesn't mean we're going to eliminate the type of extreme behaviors that we saw with the mass shootings but it is an essential art of the process. We can contribute to reducing events like this by what we put out into the world. In other words, each one of us is more powerful than we realize in terms of how we can influence the well-being not only ourselves but of others. Every thought, every feeling that we have, is imprinting in the field of consciousness we're all drawing from to create our lives and our realities. Our contributions don't have to be grandiose. Every time we decide that we're going to have a little more compassion for someone rather than judging them, imprints the field. Every time we decide that we're going to be a little kinder rather than irritated it imprints the field. Every time find ourselves in an attitude we know is not beneficial for us and we make a change, it is a powerful contribution to the field. There are also are practices that people can do such as meditations, prayers affirmations and/ or intention exercises. Exercises like these can include time to send more love and care and compassion into that field to help lift the vibratory rate of consciousness. Another impotent aspect to cultivate is patience. We've got to allow for life to unfold. We need to allow for this shift in consciousness to unfold. For me, when I and sending heart to something I'm not trying to say what should be or shouldn't be. I'm just putting out a feeling from my heart into the field environment to facilitate highest and best outcomes. Then I let things unfold. It's a very complex world that we live in, and my contribution needs to be neutral. I think that in these times where the speed of change is happening so quickly, it's outweighing our capacity to deal with life in a balanced way at times. People are having a tough time out there. People are going to lose in ways. They're going to do things that we consider horrific. I don't think idealistically we can expect all that to go away. What we can do is to place our intention on putting more love, compassion and care into the energetic field environment, so some of this doesn't have to happen. However, when you have this much change happening in such a short amount of time, there's going to be chaos. There are going to be people that can't cope. So my heart goes out to them rather than being in judgment of them. I suggest we have a little compassionate latitude. I think the most important contribution I can make is to keep that love, care and compassion going. I try to move beyond my judgments and fears while certainly not ignoring the significance of what these events are doing or condoling them in any way. Jewel s: How do we help people cope with having observed a traumatic event, whether it's on the news or even having heard it from a neighbor. How can we help people cope with that so that it doesn't take our collective vibration down so much? Because it's just not about the shooting, it's about all the energy that is so dark. Right now, the energy in the United States is completely divided. There is hate on both opposing sides and it seems like there is less love and understanding, with others judging everybody with opposing opinions. Page 29
