It St a r t ed A s a T h o u g h t by Jewels Johnson Got pain in your life? That began as a thought. Got pleasure? That too began as a thought and manifested into whatever it is that?s making you happy. Every invention started as a thought; every good (or bad) deed started as a thought. Where do thoughts originate? Actually, from immeasurable sources, including from subconscious programming or magnetically attracting other similar thoughts through the Law of Attraction. Sometimes a thought will just ?pop into your head,? seemingly from nowhere. That?s what happened to El l en Wood, our featured columnist, one Tuesday morning last September, two months before her 82nd birthday. She was getting a snack in the kitchen while her mind was chewing on a sentence in the first draft of Volume 3 of The Secret Method for Growing Younger. Just then an alternate thought interrupted her with an image of a different book. She says she clearly saw the title on the cover, Late Bloomers, and a group of people ? including her ? on the cover wearing bloomers. Well, wearing bloomers didn?t work out but a book by a group of writers sharing their poetry and short stories did work and it launched July 13. Wood said that even though it seemed to come out of the blue, she had actually been thinking strongly for months about a movement that?s happening among Boomers and it gave her the second part of the title: The Movement . ?Our Muses are loudly and wildly signaling us to abandon the couch and TV and innovate, be passionate, love and inspire others. We?re listening and expressing ourselves with enthusiasm: in art, music, writing, theater, fine cuisine, volunteer work and other callings,? Wood, editor of the book, said. ?We?re ready to shun the Lesser Gods ? those minor deities who had us primping and scrimping. We?re perfect as we are and we don?t have a family of mouths to feed. ?It used to be that a Late Bloomer was the odd exception among millions of people in the second half of their lives. Nowadays it?s the other way around. We are the new Late Bloomers ? in our prime, all juiced up, asking, ?What do I want to do with the rest of my life? What makes me happy?? ? This group of eight, ranging in age from 57 to 82 and all living in Taos County, New Mexico, looks like they know how to have fun! They also know how to craft poetry and stories that will make you laugh, cry and simply stop and savor beautiful, touching words. But Late Bloomers: The Movement is more than just a great read. It?s also a call to that deep place within you where there?s a yearning to express that talent you?ve hidden all these years. Perhaps their short stories and poems ? some fierce and jolting, some down to earth and funny, and some alive with quiet elegance ? will inspire you to find and express your own voice, no matter how old you are. Think strongly about that ? and see what the Law of Attraction manifests in your life. This will make a great gift for the NEW Lat e Bl oomers in your life. https:/ / www.amazon.com/ LATE-BLOOMERS-Movement-Literary-Boomers/ dp/ 1072373769 Page 21
