" You look like a professional golfer," he said to me. I laughed. "No never played golf," I said. It was a fun
light-hearted exchange. He had a fun presence about him.
He was a homeless guy standing to the left of the entrance of the store I was going into. When I came out of the
store, we joked again, I gave him a few dollars and went on my way.
I went back to the same store two days later and he was there again? same spot. I enjoyed meeting him last time so
I walked up to him like an old friend. We shook hands, exchanged a few laughs and he asked if I could buy him
something to eat. I went into the store, found my items, thought about what I could buy him and decided I'd give
him money so he could buy what he wanted. I went back outside.
"Wasn?t sure what to get you so here's a few bucks instead," I said. We shook hands and he
thanked me. "You a deacon or something?" he smiled and asked me. I laughed again. "Nope,
but at one point in my life I thought about being a Priest," I said.
He started talking about how God has been good to him at times but then he started to
remember hard times, times he struggles, times he wants to do good but doesn't, and started
to cry. I wasn't expecting that. I don?t think he was either.
I just listen to him and listened within to see if I felt inspired or called to say anything in
particular. Mostly though, I felt strongly to just stay present, truly look and really see him as
a person, think well about him and love him as much as I could in that moment. Then I did
