The Medicine Wheel only holds to truth and brings clarity to that which has woven itself into
our Being, which we do not see objectively. There are also our virtues that serve without
acknowledging them. In the Circle there are no sides or corners to hide in: all is transparent. It
Is The Creator?s sign.
First, think or draw a great Circle. Draw a line from top to
bottom, and then side to side. You now have four
quadrants. When writing you may need to go outside the
lines. That?s perfectly alright. It?s most important to
write.
In the upper right quadrant are all your emotions that
are charged with high energy and take a lot of energy.
Here is where you may have stored unrealized
expectations, betrayal, hate, anger, and fear. Consider
what of these emotions and others may have an effect
on you.
In the bottom right hand quadrant are your emotions
that are not as charged with energy, but still drain you,
such as childhood memories of sadness, sorrow, or
regret. Consider what of these emotions and others may
still have an effect on you.
In the bottom left quadrant are all your emotions that
may not be as charged with energy, but renew you, such as peace, calm, or caring. Consider
what of these emotions and others may have an effect on you.
Finally, in the top left quadrant are all your strongly charged emotions that vitalize and
energize you, such as confidence, happiness, joy, and bliss. Consider what of these emotions
and others have an effect on you.
Once you have gone through the process of documenting all your emotions you can think of,
and in what quadrants they fall within, look back and reflect. What causes these emotions? Do
they positively affect your life? If not, do you require them in your life? Why do you require
them?
So seeing them and owning them gives you power
to resolve them. Going through this process will
allow you to begin to reflect on habitual ways of
thinking that you may have not even noticed that
you have fallen into. The first step to change is the
KNOWING.
I say Wado (Cherokee word for appreciation) for
your precious time to read my sharings. And I leave
you with this saying:
Life is a Cycle,
A Cycle is a Circle,
And in the Circle,
