Pause and Observe, I tell myself.
I walk over to the wine section and there I manage to take a step back from the situation to turn my attention
inward? grounding myself and feeling safe from inside.
It?s very hard sometimes to take a step back, and observe what?s going on internally.
But, this is the golden key.
Just by taking 60 seconds to ground myself and feel centered in my body can make
a world of a difference. Once I do that, all that remains flows with whatever is arising
and I can just ?be? in that moment of life.
I hope you get to enjoy the ride of your journey within...especially while we learn to
be in the new world with COVID19.

Have you not iced l osing your pat ience a l it t l e quicker t han usual ?
As we start week 5 of the ?shelter-in? in the US., most of us are growing impatient and frustrated with the
situation. This is only natural and it is happening to all of us. The KEY here, in my opinion, is to stay
grounded, instead of flying off and losing control.
Now, big question is - How do we do that?
Let me share a scene-by-scene episode where my patience is tested and how I find my footing.
As a reiki Master I would like to share a grounding exercise that will easily help you
stay centered everyday during this high stress and frustrating environment.
St art :
Stand or sit in a chair with your feet at least 6" apart with your knees
slightly bent. Begin by envisioning you are tall & strong, like a tree, with
feet flat on the ground. Feel the limbs in your body as solid and strong
branches as if you were a tree. Keeping feet strong, yet flexibly bending in
the wind. Now envision slow roots coming out of the bottom of your feet,
as they start go deep into the ground beneath your feet, deeper, deeper,
and deeper to the center of the mother earth. The deeper they dig into the
earth, the stronger tree becomes.
The roots go down to the center of the Earth where there is a round, golden
white core. They begin to wrap themselves around the core of the earth.
Feel a secure hold with the roots around the core, a solid feeling in your
feet and legs.
It?s a nice Sunday afternoonhere in California Silicon Valley. I?m at the Whole Foods and I am filled with
gratitude for the employee and fresh products, plus a little excited to see human faces. Because of the
state-wide quarantine, I am only seeing my 2 cats faces these days.. ut going to the store allows me to
see real people as they courteously form socially acceptables line with the advised 6ft distance marked
X on floor by Whole Foods employees and waiting for their turn to be able to go in the store. At this time, take the opportunity to draw up the energy of Earth into your body for an energizing effect.
This is where the story begins. Along side a high feeling of gratitude, I notice another companion
creeping up from a lower feeling: the usual suspect: My Internal Frustration. - Exhale, and push this energy down your left leg, out your left foot, and back down the roots to the center of
the earth.
As I am standing and waiting in line to get into the store, I start noticing how slow people are; and once I
am in the store, I start noticing how much time people take to pick their items out and how inconsiderate
people are of others? time who are
waiting behind them. - Continue breathing and working with the energy until you feel grounded. When you are ready, you can
open your eyes.
You can certainly notice some
judgmental statements here! Whether
these people are the slowest or most
meticulous shoppers in the world

present moment and my perception

drowning in my thoughts and emotions.
- Close your eyes...Inhale, and pull the energy up the roots of your right foot, into your right foot, up your
right leg, and into your lower abdominal area.
- Feel the energy accumulate within your lower abdominal region.
This was a technique I learned when I had begun my reiki journey, and now I use it whenever I need to
ground myself.
