In this edition, REALITY TVM, we hear from victims of transvaginal mesh implants gone wrong. Many of the women who share their stories here initially had mesh implanted in order to treat Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) and/or Stress Urinary Incontinence(SUI). have had to undergo revision surgery, or removal of their mesh implant, and they are now involved in TVM lawsuits from which they hope to recover damages.
Unfortunately, TVM failures and the pain and lifestyle challenges they can bring on, are often relegated to private, 'hush-hush' conversations--after all, they're typically one of those 'women's issues'. But, just as breast cancer has come out from the shadows and is now discussed openly--to the benefit of all--so, too, are the issues surrounding transvaginal mesh implants gone wrong. And the dialog has begun right here--with these brave women who agreed to be interviewed by our team of journalists.
