The Daniel Boone National Forest covers the western section of Laurel Co. and offers a variety of hiking trails and sites. Those include Hawk Creek Suspended Bridge, off West KY 80; Sheltowee Trace Trailhead that runs from West KY 80 to KY 192; Pine Creek Falls Trailhead that runs along the western section of Laurel Co.( West KY 80) toward the Rockcastle River; Laurel Fork, which begins at Laurel River Dam to Cumberland Ricver; Vanhook Falls off KY 192 in the Cane Creek Valley off KY 192; Dog Slaughter Trail, Eagle Falls, Laurel Stint Scuttle Hole Overlook, Laurel Lake Loop Trail around Laurel Lake and Winding Stair Gap near Bee Rock Campground off KY 192 at the Rockcastle River. The northern section of Laurel Co. hosts three trails in the Camp Wildcat area off North U. S. 25. Those include Wildct Mountain PVT Lewis McFerran Trail, Hoosier Knob Interpretive Trail and Infantry Ridge Interpretive Trail
