Membership is no longer dependent on being Mormon.

When LDSMAA launched in September of 2014, It was originally
made for Latter-day Saints as a way of connecting members of the
Church who are enthusiastic about martial arts.
The reason for this exclusive start was to build a strong LDS base in
the organization. It has always been our intention to open LDSMAA
up to people of all faiths, styles and backgrounds, so long as they
abide by the morals and values established by LDSMAA.
The morals and values held by LDSMAA are not uncommon to those
of the LDS Church, and most are fairly common to many martial arts
philosophies and healthy living life styles.
This is a great opportunity for individuals involved in martial arts
who have the same values as LDS people, to be a part of something
cool that connects them with others who share their principles.
This change will take place in the spring of 2015.
Membership in LDSMAA is free, so there are no fees or dues.
