Design principal Amy Eliot AIA , LEED AP BD + C , served as a juror for AIA Orange County ’ s 2022 Design Awards . Along with fellow jurors in the commercial projects category , Ralph Roesling , FAIA , of Roesling Nakamura Terada Architects Inc . and Jennifer Rittler , AIA , of Moody Nolan reviewed more than 80 projects for design and AIA COTE recognition .
“ One of the most notable aspects of the projects submitted this year was the diversity of project types , scales , budgets and clients represented — these reinforced that creativity and innovation are vibrantly alive and flourishing in the region and its design community ,” Eliot announced on Facebook . “ For the first time , under the guidance of AIA OC ’ s executive director , Jeff Gill , FAIA , and his stellar chapter team , firms were strongly encouraged to engage the AIA ’ s Framework for Design Excellence and describe their work in ways that go beyond typical considerations traditionally considered worthy of design awards and to make measurable progress toward a zerocarbon , equitable , resilient and healthy built environments . We were proud to award recognition to projects that are not just beautiful but contribute meaningfully to a hopeful and more just future .”
