Florida’s Latina Leaders
Congratulations to our good
friend Ileana De Leon Martin,
who is now the current President/
Chair of the Hispanic Chamber of
Commerce of Tampa Bay.
Jolie Gonzalez-Padilla: Tell us how
you got started as a businesswoman.
Ileana De Leon Martin: At the age
of 23, I came to the realization that
companies were missing out on an
opportunity in reaching out to the
Hispanic community. I started the
Hispanic Yellow Pages, using two filing
cabinets and a door as my desk. Within 7 years I had grown the business to
over 200 employees, servicing Tampa,
Orlando, Ft Lauderdale, Miami and
Houston Texas. Shortly after opening
the Hispanic Yellow Pages I found a
need to help businesses reach out and
help clients that wanted or needed
multi-media buys and counseling. I
opened Hispanic Advertising Specialist
now Manana Marketing.
Jolie Gonzalez-Padilla: Tell us about
your position with Hispanic Chamber
of Commerce of Tampa Bay, what are
some of the initiatives or goals that
you have set for your time as president.
