Anthony Gonzalez
Anthony Gonzalez was born in Tampa , and grew up in Ybor City , when Ybor City was the center of the Latin community in Tampa . His grandparents immigrated to Tampa from Cuba and Spain . He is a partner in the law firm of Byrd & Gonzalez , P . A ., a firm dedicated to helping individuals and families , who have been seriously injured in accidents or the victims of wrongful death . Anthony and his partner Bill Byrd , pride themselves on providing outstanding personal service , and legal expertise to each and every client .
David Cantillo
David Cantillo was born in Havana , Cuba on January 27 , 1956 . David ’ s family came to the US in 1965 , and lived in Kokomo Indiana , where he went to High School . David ’ s family then relocated to Miami , where he attended the Univ . of Miami . David graduated in 1978 with a BS in Chemistry , and moved to Michigan to attend Wayne State University and study Chemistry . David graduated with a PhD in 1984 .
From there , David went to Akron , Ohio , to work for Goodyear Tire & Rubber co , conducting research in Chemistry . Afterwards , David taught Chemistry at St . Thomas University in Miami , FL , Benedictine College in Atchison , KS , and various other educational institutions .
Davie was married in 1996 , his wife ’ s name is Julissa , and they have two children , Kezia , who is 8 and Jacob , who is 6 .
Dr . David Cantillo is the founding pastor of “ Tampa para Cristo ,” a new church reaching out to Hispanics in Tampa Bay . He has been involved in ministry since 1990 , besides having careers in Chemistry as a researcher and teacher , and in the field of Mental Health as a therapist .
“ Since I came to Tampa in 2000 , I have seen a need to establish a strong spiritual outreach out to the Hispanic community in Tampa ,” says pastor Cantillo . Dr . David Cantillo is the founding pastor of “ Tampa para Cristo ,” a new church reaching out to Hispanics in Tampa Bay .
he taught them ,” he comments . TPC - University area has served the community by providing food and clothing drives , job advocacy , English classes , and other types of support . Many of the people in that community are first-generation immigrants that have moved to Tampa in search of employment . Dr . Cantillo also is cochair of the University Area Faith- Based Alliance , a multicultural group that works to help the community . TPC – University area is only the start , since David ’ s plans are to establish churches all over Tampa that will meet the needs of the various Hispanic communities .
In Tampa , Dr . Cantillo , has taught at the University of South Florida and Hillsborough Community College . He also has served as a therapist with juveniles and families for Northside Mental Health Center , and has done marriage counseling through local churches . Besides his work for the church , he currently works as the Quality Assurance Officer for a local laboratory that does environmental analysis . Anthony has 21 years of legal experience , and is board certified as a civil trial lawyer by The Florida Bar . He is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell which is the highest rating available to attorneys nationally . For 17 years , Anthony represented major insurance companies , and their insured ’ s throughout the state of Florida . He has tried over 50 civil jury trials to verdict , therefore is extensively familiar with Florida court rooms . He has lectured on various topics such as , defending automobile accidents claims , slip and fall and negligent security cases , as well as a number of insurance related topics .
Anthony has been active in the community having coached and served on the board of directors of a youth baseball league for 15 years ...
He is admitted to practice by The Florida Bar , the United States District Court ( Middle District of Florida ), and the United States Court of Appeals ( Eleventh Circuit ). He is a member of the Florida Justice Association , Hillsborough County Bar Association , Tampa Bay Trial Lawyer Association , and Tampa Bay Hispanic Bar Association . Currently , he serves as a member of The Florida Bar Civil Trial Certification Committee .
