Dr . Guenson Charlot leads the school . A former OMS missionary mentored and encouraged Dr . Charlot in his early years . EU has an effective Haitian leadership team . Graduates minister throughout Haiti and in many countries around the world . Several have established large denominations in Haiti . Many graduates pastor churches in the U . S . that range in size from 100 to 1,000 .
The fifth ministry , Cap-Haitien Christian School , formerly Cowman International School , started by OMS for OMS missionary kids . One missionary couple had a vision that the school should also minister to Haitians who desired an English , U . S . - based education . Today , 157 Haitian students attend in K-3 through 12 th grade . The school is directed by former OMS missionary Kacie Saint Fidor from the U . S ., with all but one of the teachers being from Haiti .
In 1995 , a group of pastors , with counsel from now-retired OMS missionary Harold Brown , organized The Fellowship of Emmaus Churches . Today , OMS relates closely with 53 churches , most with primary schools . In addition to this , OMS works directly in partnership with some of these churches in a child sponsorship ministry called The Southern Haiti Evangelism and Education Program , SHEEP . We serve 116 sponsored children , providing food and clothing . Additionally , OMS ’ Every Community for Christ ( ECC ) teams in Haiti work with 28 pastors / partners-in-training in the Emmaus Fellowship , training them to multiply disciples and stations ( small groups ) throughout the country . Our ECC trainers also work with many more established pastors / partners in more than 200 stations . Starfish Kids , OMS ’ longtime ministry of child sponsorship in northern Haiti , is now called Mercy Kidz and is run by OMS ’ partner ministry Mercy , inc ., focusing on 12 schools and supporting 612 students .
