IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WAR
UMRAN
There was a huge devastation in the
neighborhood. There were about 13 14
wounded. There were many people on the street
when bombardment was taking place. They
were all running into the buildings. I didn't
know what it was.
When the buildings were demolished, they were
all under the wreckage. I was interfering with
these people because I was a first aid doctor.
Then when I turned to the ambulance, I saw
child inside. The child froze. Everywhere was
in the blood. I learned the name at the mo-
ment.His name was Umran.He was an innocent
and pure child.

Chernobyl Disaster
Year 16th April 1986. Chernobyl!
I was 11 years old. We lived in
Ukraine Kiev. My brother was an
engineer.
He worked at Chernobyl nuclear
power plant. He was on guard that
night. We woke up with a great loud
noise .
My parents looked at the window
with fear. We lived far away from
the plant, so we only saw smoke.
We do not understand what it is. my
brother was at the plant.
I was very scared. firefighters were running. My father was a fireman, he was on work permit, but he had to go.
My father said that they could not put out the fire that was exploded in the chernobyl plant.
Then the buses arrived. We boarded the bus and with my mother away from the city.
