Family Farms that care
On a finca integral or "integrated farm," sustainable environmental practices are implemented so that both families and the environment in and around the farm flourish. Unlike the majority of farms in developed countries today that grow monocultures, use large, industrial equipment to harvest crops, and treat plants with many artificial pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, these small farms reduce their impact on the environment by growing a great diversity of crops, applying little to no chemicals, and providing safe passage for wildlife through integrated forest patches on their properties.
