SHELTERS & PERGOLAS
The provision of outdoor teaching units has become significant
as schools aim to provide safe areas for children in the summer
months. In addition to outdoor teaching units we offer pergolas
and covered walkways between classroom areas.
Shelters are covered units mostly used for outdoor teaching
and dining, and offer shelter from the elements. Pergolas are
open units that are mostly decorative and can be used to
screen off certain areas, or added for plants to be grown
up and create a more sheltered social area. Parent waiting
shelters and buggy parks are also needed in some schools
to give parents a place to meet and wait away from the
elements before picking up their children, and we have a
range of these available too.
Our shelters and pergolas can be made from timber, steel,
or using Tensile fabric components. We also have a range
of solar shades to protect buildings and classrooms from the
sun’s glare. All the designs have been subject to wind and
snow calculation analysis to BS 6399 and are fit for purpose.
Sheldon has a comprehensive range of outdoor teaching
facilities including solar shading, pergolas and covered
walkways. Because it is a modular system it is extremely flexible
and enables us to provide bespoke structures at a low cost.
In the Malford range, where steel is the material of choice,
we have produced a number of bespoke structures including
entrance canopies and viewing shelters. As full calculations
have been produced for these items, they are now available
as standard products.
