Dense Foliage Protects Against Water Loss
Elveden Instant Hedge is known for its fully knitted, dense vegetation. This dense structure shades the soil around the hedge, reducing water loss from evaporation. The tightness of the vegetation also helps to lower overall moisture loss through evapotranspiration.
How Much Water Does an Elveden Instant Hedge Need?
An Elveden Instant Hedge needs surprisingly little water, although we do recommend monitoring soil moisture levels for the first 12-24 months after installation.
Newly transplanted hedges should be watered in to help settle the soil around the roots and ideally mulched well too. Thereafter, water requirements will vary according to soil type, exposure, air temperatures and rainfall. In most cases, applying drip irrigation for a few minutes in the early morning and the late evening is sufficient to sustain a newly transplanted hedge in even the most inhospitable drought conditions.
Our nursery staff will be pleased to advise on the watering requirements best suited to your Elveden Instant Hedge.
Water Efficient Measures Allow All-Year Round Establishment
The slowly matured plants and carefully managed root system of an Elveden Instant Hedge is just one of the reasons that our products can be installed at any time of year. With no need to consider seasonal issues, your project management will be smoother and more simplified.
