As the industry grabs its breath after another incredibly hotly-contested BALI National Landscape Awards ceremony, where Surrey-based The Outdoor Room deservedly walked away with the Grand Award for their outstanding Hawthorn House project, excitement is already starting to build for the 50th anniversary of the Awards, to be held in Winter 2026.
A legacy of excellence and industry leadership The BALI National Landscape Awards – held by the British Association of Landscape Industries( BALI) – continue to stand as one of the UK’ s most-respected celebrations of landscaping craftsmanship, innovation and professional excellence.
Since their inception in 1976, the BALI Awards have grown into the largest landscaping awards in Europe. Over that time, they have become much more than an annual ceremony – they are a benchmark of quality, a showcase of what is possible at the highest levels of landscape design, build and maintenance.
The Awards offer a unique, peer reviewed platform for landscaping professionals, whether contractors, designers, or maintenance specialists, to present their work to a national and international audience. With dozens of categories covering everything from private gardens to large scale regeneration, from biodiversity led planting to hard landscaping, the Awards recognise a broad spectrum of talent and expertise.
Each entry is rigorously assessed: projects are personally visited by expert judges, scrutinised for craftsmanship, creativity, environmental sensitivity and project management, ensuring that only the very best are honoured.
Spotlight on 2025 – continuing a tradition of excellence At the 2025 Awards ceremony held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House on 5 December, over 1,000 members, sponsors and guests gathered to celebrate the highest achievements in landscaping.
