3. Feeding
Are transplanted hedges greedy for feed? Surprisingly, no they’ re not. A slow release granular feed applied to the soil immediately after backfilling will be perfectly adequate to encourage vigorous rooting. Mulch well with compost, and then follow up with seasonal feeds in spring and autumn, and your new hedge will be happy.
