FOR DESIGN EXCELLENCE
Members of The Garden Company team , led by James Scott ( FSGD MBALI ), took part in a wonderful day of celebrations at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel on Park Lane in London on Friday 6 December . James and his team were delighted to receive a prestigious Principal Award for Design Excellence from the British Association of Landscape Industries ( BALI ). The award recognizes the exceptional quality of a residential design-andbuild project in Hertfordshire . A modern , new-build property ’ s rear garden was re-imagined into a stylish outdoor space , balancing familyfriendly functionality with elegance and sophistication for entertaining guests .
James Scott commented , “ A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us with this project . The recognition means the world to us ! It is a wonderful acknowledgment of our commitment to creating bespoke spaces where people truly enjoy spending their time . Our goal was to create a harmonious flow between the house , garden studio and garden , reflecting the clients ’ desire for a cohesive , stylish environment . We extend special thanks to our fantastic suppliers — London Stone , Stark and Greensmith , Island Stone and Nederhoff Plants — and also our contractors Landesigns Ltd . Thanks also to the judging panel of course !’ . The BALI judging panel described the garden as ‘ an exemplar scheme in design excellence ’, summarising it as ‘ an excellent scheme that demonstrates the designer ’ s skill in creating a tranquil garden that transitions from a quiet space for relaxation to one that can accommodate large groups for entertaining seamlessly . The garden was a pleasure to be in regardless of where you were and sensitively maximises the differing experiences for the client ’.
