Join the Industry ’ s Largest Free Learning Event at SALTEX 2024 . SALTEX 2024 is set to host the most extensive free educational event in the sector , Learning LIVE . This programme features over 20 industry pioneers , technical specialists , and experts across three stages , offering an unmissable opportunity for attendees to gain insights from top professionals .
The first day will open with a panel discussion on Sustainable Solutions featuring industry giants such as Karl Standley from Wembley Stadium , Neil Stubley from All England Lawn Tennis Club , Jim Buttar from Twickenham Stadium , and Gary Barwell from Edgbaston Stadium . The day will continue with important discussions on how to attract young people to the industry , followed by an insightful session on effective practices for maintaining 3G artificial turf , led by Professor Paul Fleming of Loughborough University .
The second day will focus on dealing with climate change challenges at top international football venues , with contributions from experts like Phil Sharples of Caspian Sport & Landscape , Vicente Alpuente of Villarreal , Iker Orue of Real Sociedad , and Dean Gilesby from Naturalgrass . The day will conclude with a session on advanced techniques for surface maintenance , offering valuable tips and methodologies .
The Spotlight Stage will feature ‘ Askthe-Expert ’ -style forums , beginning with insights into controlling leatherjackets and chafer grubs by Dr . Christian Spring of STRI Group and Sean Loakes of Syngenta . Other essential discussions on this stage will include the future of artificial grass pitches and sustainable turf management , with presentations by leaders in the field . On the second day , the Spotlight Stage will host a Soil Health Clinic led by
experts such as Alex Vickers , a turf consultant , and Dr . John Dempsey , offering critical knowledge on soil health and management . Attendees will also have the chance to learn about the latest findings in independent turfgrass research and explore how climate effects influence turfgrass management .
The brand-new Community Sports Stage will place a strong emphasis on community and grassroots sports . The first day will cover funding opportunities for multi-sport facilities , planning for pitch improvement projects , and strategies for maintaining quality surfaces on a limited budget . The second day will start with an introduction to grass seed and fertiliser , followed by sessions on effective aeration and decompaction techniques , and will wrap up with advice on attracting and managing club volunteers .
