Chelwood Tool Company originally based near Bristol but now in Devon , is a family run business that has been renowned for its excellent quality and design of a range of commercial and professional rakes for over 50 years . Supplying Groundsman , Landscapers and Greenkeepers nationwide and recently more and more worldwide . In 1973 the company won the Institute of Groundsmanship ’ s International Gold Award for the Best Introduction of the Year . The last time this was given for a hand tool was 18 years previous .
After originally starting with rakes made only from high tensile steel in 1984 we introduced a range of polypropylene rakes to our catalogue , these are light as a feather but as strong and durable as the steel . Not long after , we introduced our top quality Aluminium Crown Landscaper rake and our specially designed light weight , heavy duty , Aluminium Snow Shovel with a reinforced stainless steel leading edge . Since the we have added the concrete rake ( CR460 ), equestrian fork ( EF390 ) and a range of water rakes to our catalogue and more recently we have extended our range of steel and polypropylene rakes and introduced our Chelute ® .
In a nutshell , we offer a large range of rakes for all reasons in sizes ranging from 35cm to 100cm wide with a variety of tooth gaps , amongst other specialist groundcare tools .
