Sentinel is the latest addition to David ’ s collection of stonework sculptures , each expertly crafted by his team on site at his rural Oxfordshire workshop . A cousin of the popular Dark Planet family , each and every shard of slate is meticulously sorted and selected by hand , with only the finest and most uniform making the final cut .
Each is individually applied to the sculpture , a painstakingly precise process that gives each Sentinel its own unique personality . All pieces in David ’ s repertoire reflect his love for and fascination of nature , incorporating light , reflection , shadows or water to spectacular effect .
