Flora Britannica
UK native & naturalised flowering plant species are highly valued for creating and restoring wildlife habitats , providing food , shelter and flowering vistas where horticultural varieties might otherwise look out of place . Over Millenia a great diversity of flowering species colonised our shores , spontaneously growing across diverged eco-systems , from ancient wild undisturbed habitats , through to modern urban landscapes .
Consequences of decades of intensive land management , has heightened awareness in the decline of pollinating insect populations . Independent collaborative research by the Urban Pollinators Group ( UPG ) at Bristol , Edinburgh , Leeds & Reading universities explored the complex ecological demands of diverse pollinator groups throughout their life-cycle . Euroflor 100 % flower seed mixes are a direct outcome of that research , supplying a longer seasonal supply of nectar and pollen and creating valuable habitats for a myriad of insects and the eco-systems they support . The following mixes all contain 100 % native and naturalised flora for enriching the environment of amenity settings such as parkland , public gardens , country estates , golf courses , road and riverside verges and allotments .
Native Pollinators

Euroflor Native Pollinator A rich mix of perennials , biennials and self-seeding annuals providing abundant nectar and pollen , widely adaptable to a range of soil types , a more discreet flowering display for environmentally sensitive sites in either full sun or partial shade
Euroflor Poppies 100 % Field ( or Common ) Poppies ( Papaver rhoeas ) of high purity and germination
Euroflor is generally sown at 3g / m2 and up to 5g per m2 on sloping sites and can be undertaken for spring sowing up to the end of June . Annual seed mixes in general have a higher visual impact than perennial mixes and are easier to establish . After sowing the soil should not be allowed to dry out for 2-3 weeks giving time for all species to germinate . Once the plants are growing little maintenance required ; irrigate only if wilting stress is observed , and a little spot weeding as necessary . The UK climate being what it is may mean no supplementary watering is needed at all !
The entire range of Euroflor mixes for either spring and / or autumn sowing is available individually in 1kg packs , covering approximately 300-350 square metres , or explore a wider range of mixes with your personally selected Discovery Box . Each box contains 10 x 50g packs with each 50g pack covering approximately 16 square metres .
