GARDEN DESIGN
Plants that fulfil multiple functions feature a lot in edible landscape design . For example , Calendula to many is just a marigold . However some of its functions include :
• Edible petals of the flowers
• Medicinal properties of the flowers
• Great for attracting pollinators
• Great for attracting pest predators
• Flowers all year in the right spot
• Self seeds for multiplication
A truly sustainable future is one where all needs are met at the place they are needed . Localising food production is a great and achievable solution that is available to most people .
By designing edible perennial ecosystems that require little maintenance and self-perpetuate a greener future can be achieved where diverse organic food is abundant and available .
