EXPERT ADVICE
EASY WAYS TO ACHIEVE
A WONDERFUL WALL
Jeremy Lee, Commercial
Director at Bradstone, offers his
expert advice on the best ways
to add a finishing touch to your
garden using a wall.
“Quite often we see people who
may have perfected their patio or
showcased their green-fingers with
a stunning flower bed, but require
that final flourish to complete their
garden. A feature such as a wall is a
great way to successfully add that
finishing touch, and also add some
height into what otherwise might be
quite a flat space.
“Walls often add a sense of shape,
structure and style to a garden
design, and are often available in
finishes to match or complement
your existing patio. They can also
connect different elements of
your garden, by incorporating a
seating area, or drawing attention to
attractive features such as a built-in
brick barbecue or raised herbaceous
beds.
“If a garden already has a wall
that needs a little TLC, rather than
knocking it down and starting again,
walling slips are an easy way to
make it look like new. Bradstone’s
natural stone walling slips simply
stick to a block wall using Bradbond
walling adhesive, with the Z-shaped
slips fitting together to give the
appearance of a random look.
“Alternatively, when starting a new
wall from scratch, our Easy Stack
walling provides a quick, easy
and cost-effective solution. The
contemporary style hollow walling
is extremely versatile. For a dry
laid effect, the units can be bonded
together with a suitable sealant and
filled with concrete to create a stable
base for a feature wall. Equally, the
product can be installed to form a
planter – simply infill with soil to a
maximum height of 600mm to create
a stunning border for your plants.”
