Using over 20 years of experience in
developing, maintaining and planting
instant hedging, Practicality Brown
now produce Practical Instant Hedge™
which is a mature hedge grown in 1m
trough bags, at the nursery in Iver,
Buckinghamshire.
Our range has expanded and we have
thousands of metres of UK grown
instant hedge in production.
Current availability includes:
• Beech (Fagus sylvatica) 1.2m and
1.8m high
• Box (Buxus sempervirens ‘Faulkner’)
60cm high (40cm wide)
The production method ensures that this
ready grown hedge is easy to handle and
can be planted all year round without
stressing the roots (i.e. no transplant
shock). We have taken the time to care
and cultivate these hedges to create an
impressive and real instant hedge from
plants that have knitted together over
several growing seasons.
• Broadleaf (Griselinia littoralis)
1-1.2m, 1.4-1.5m and 1.6-1.8m high
• Common Laurel (Prunus
laurocerasus ‘Rotundifolia’) 1-1.2m
high
• Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna)
1.5m high
We have expert nursery staff overseeing
production and are able to offer a
premium mature hedging product,
grown with top quality plants, which is
suitable for both commercial and domestic
situations. We can supply and deliver, and
also offer a complete installation service.
• Holly (Ilex aquifolium) 1.2m high
• Holm Oak (Quercus ilex) 1.6-1.8m high
• Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) 1-1.2m, 1.5-1.8m and 1.8-2m high
• Mixed Native (a mix of native plants) 1-1.2m, 1.5-1.8m and 1.8-2m high
• Oleaster (Elaeagnus ebbingei ‘Compacta’) 1.2m, 1.3-1.5m and 1.6-1.8m high
• Portuguese Laurel (Prunus lusitanica ‘Angustifolia’) 1.5-1.8m high
• Yew (Taxus baccata) 50cm, 90/100cm, 1-1.2m, 1.5-1.8m and 1.8-2m high
